How Are These Computed?
All celestial events on OmPanchang are computed locally in your browser or on our server using the open-source astronomy-engine library (MIT licensed) — a pure-JavaScript implementation of VSOP87, ELP-2000, and other astronomical algorithms. We do not depend on any external astronomy API. Eclipse predictions use the same algorithms published in Jean Meeus' Astronomical Algorithms, accurate to within a minute of Nasa's eclipse predictions.
